The Bucks turned up the D last night in holding the T-Wolves to 38.1% shooting from the floor and it helped them win.  Brandon Jennings led the way for the Bucks in this game with 27 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Corey Maggette also had a nice game for the Bucks with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.  Carlos Delfino (13 points) and John Salmons (12 points) also pitched in last night for the Bucks.  The Bucks are now 22-34 on the season.

The first half was a disaster for the Milwaukee Bucks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General by admin on Monday 21 February 2011 at 7:28 pm

The Bucks just couldn’t stay healthy before the All-Star Break and the result was a 21-34 record which has them in 3rd place in the Central Division, 17.5 games behind the Bulls.  The Bucks are currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, but they are only 3.5 games behind the Pacers for the 8th spot.  The Bucks will be starting out the second half relatively healthy so they could make a run for the playoffs.

Biggest Surprise:  When the Bucks signed 34-year old point guard Earl Boykins, they weren’t expecting much.  But the 5’5″, 133 pound Boykins has been solid whenever called upon by the Bucks so far this year.  Boykins has played in 38 games (0 starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 17.1 minutes, 8.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.  Boykins’  P.T. will likely be cut the rest of the way because Brandon Jennings is back healthy, but he has proven that he has a lot left in the gas tank.

Biggest Disappointment:  31-year old shooting guard John Salmons was supposed to be one of the top offensive players on the Bucks this season but he has been shooting way more than his fair share of bricks.  Salmons has played in 46 games (43 starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 34.5 minutes, 13.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.  Salmons is only shooting 39.1% from the floor and if that keeps up he could start losing P.T.

The Milwaukee Bucks send Larry Sanders to the D-League

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by admin on Monday 21 February 2011 at 7:20 pm

The Milwaukee Bucks have sent 22-year old rookie forward Larry Sanders to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the D-League.  Sanders has played in 36 games (8 starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 13.5 minutes, 4.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 1.2 blocked shots per game.  His shooting has been a tad off as he is hitting only 42.1% from the floor and 61% from the free throw line so far this year.  The Bucks are only sending Sanders to the D-League so that he can get a lot of P.T. that he wouldn’t get in Milwaukee  due to the suddenly deep frontcourt the Bucks have.  He will be back in Milwaukee at some point this season.

Denver Nuggets 94, Milwaukee Bucks 87

The Bucks only shot 38.8% from the floor last night and they were outscored 23-16 in the 4th quarter last night and those are the big reasons for the loss.  John Salmons led the way for the Bucks in this game with 33 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots.  Corey Maggette also had a decent game with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in 25 minutes off the bench.  Carlos Delfino (12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Andrew Bogut (3 points, 20 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 blocked shots) also pitched in for the Bucks last night.  The Bucks are now 21-34 on the year.

The Milwaukee Bucks release Garrett Temple

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by admin on Wednesday 16 February 2011 at 12:20 am

The Milwaukee Bucks have released 24-year old shooting guard Garrett Temple.  Temple played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Bucks this year and he averaged 9.2 minutes, 1.9 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  Temple had shooting issues from everywhere on the court with the Bucks.  He only made 7 of 21 shots from the floor, 3 of 10 from the three point range and he was 0 for 4 from the free throw line.  With Temple’s struggles it came as little surprise that the Bucks let him go.  He’s young enough to hook on with another team later this year.

The Bucks only shot 36.4% from the floor last night but it wasn’t until the 4th quarter when they were outscored 26-18, that they lost this game.  Corey Maggette led the way for the Bucks last night with 22 points and 2 rebounds.  John Salmons filled up the stat sheet with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Brandon Jennings finished up with 16 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot but he only shot an awful 6 of 17 from the floor.  The Bucks are now 20-32 on the year.
