The Bucks selected 20-year old shooting guard Doron Lamb out of Kentucky with the 42nd overall pick (2nd round) of the 2012 NBA Draft.  Lamb is 6’4″, 210 pounds.  Lamb played in 40 games for Kentucky last year and he averaged 31.2 minutes, 13.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.  He played in 78 games in his two years at Kentucky and he averaged 29.8 minutes, 13.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.  Lamb is a flat out shooter as he hit 47.5% of his three pointers at Kentucky.  He should be able to give the Bucks instant offense off the bench.

The Milwaukee Bucks pick power forward John Henson in the first round

The Milwaukee Bucks took 21-year old power forward John Henson out of North Carolina with the 14th overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft.  Henson is 6’11″, 220 pounds.  Henson played in 35 games for North Carolina last year and he averaged 29.1 minutes, 13.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.9 blocked shots per game.  Henson played in 109 games in his three years with the Tar Heels in which he averaged 23.8 minutes, 10.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 2.5 blocked shots per game.  This was a great pick for the Bucks as Henson could be a starter right away for them.

The Milwaukee Bucks acquire Samuel Dalembert from the Rockets

The Bucks have acquired 31-year old center Samuel Dalembert and the #14 overall pick in the first round of tomorrow night’s NBA Draft for 26-year old point guard Shaun Livingston, 23-year old power forward Jon Leuer, 25 -year old power forward Jon Brockman and the #14 overall pick in tomorrow’s NBA Draft.  Dalembert will take over as the Bucks’ starting center right away.  Dalembert played in 65 games (45 starts) for the Rockets last year and he averaged 22.2 minutes, 7.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.7 blocked shots per game.  He has now played in 727 games (582 starts) in his first 10 years in the NBA and he is averaging 25.8 minutes, 8.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.9 blocked shots per game.

Shaun Livingston played in 58 games (27 starts) for the Bucks last year and he averaged 18.8 minutes, 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.  Jon Leuer played in 46 games (12 starts) as a rookie for the Bucks last year and he averaged 12.1 minutes, 4.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.  Jon Brockman played in 35 games (0 starts) for the Bucks last year and he averaged 6.8 minutes, 1.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  He played in 98 games (6 starts) in his two years with the Bucks and he averaged 9.3 minutes, 1.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.

The Bucks did a good job here of filling a big hole in the middle with Samuel Dalembert without hurting the team.  They only traded a trio of bench players and they moved down 2 picks in the first round for Dalembert.

UPDATE:  The Bucks are also getting a future 2nd round pick from the Rockets.  They have also dealt a $2.5 million dollar trade exception to the Rockets as part of this deal.

The Milwaukee Bucks are going to be looking big in the 2012 NBA Draft

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,The Draft Report by admin on Thursday 7 June 2012 at 1:26 pm

The Bucks really need more big guys and that is what they are likely going to draft later this month.  In my mock draft found on bloglockers.com, I have the Bucks taking center Meyers Leonard out of Illinois in the first round.  In the second round, I have the Bucks picking PF Mike Scott out of Virginia.  This would be a perfect scenario for the Bucks as Leonard would start at center with Drew Gooden moving to power forward, which is his more natural position.

The Milwaukee Bucks have two important free agents to deal with this summer

Blogged under Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by admin on Thursday 7 June 2012 at 1:23 pm

Power forward Ersan Ilyasova and SF/SG Carlos Delfino are both unrestricted free agent this summer.  The Nets, among other teams, are going to be after Ilyasova this year….so the price is going to be high to retain him.  If the bidding gets too high, I look for the Bucks to let him walk.  Carlos Delfino is a solid wing player, and the Bucks would likely want to bring him back too as long as the price is right.  My gut feeling tells me that Ilyasova will be gone and Delfino will return to the Bucks for 2012-13.  The Milwaukee Bucks will likely consider bringing back Kwame Brown, if they lose out on Ilyasova.
